Last updated on October 29th, 2024
A feeling of optimism is blossoming in 2022 as we reawaken, reconnect, and explore what’s to come. Beckoning us to embrace change and express ourselves through color, Sherwin-Williams presents their Colormix® Forecast for 2022: MODE, a collection of 40 hyper-current colors from which four unique palettes were drawn, all designed to welcome each transition.
The four distinct color palettes—Method, Opus, Dreamland, and Ephemera—celebrate movement away from stillness. Explore a selection of color trends from each of these palettes showcased in Toll Brothers model homes across the country.
Taking inspiration from nature and virtual reality, the organic and the surreal, futurism and nostalgia, these hues will help you create a home that is distinctively yours.
METHOD
Drawing from art deco, modern organic, and postmodern design, Method focuses on soft, sunlit neutrals that embody wellbeing and the healing power of nature. Creating a sense of balance and wellness, these hues work well in nearly any room. Try them paired with organic elements and textures in a bedroom, bathroom, or living room to enhance your daily routines with a calming presence.
OPUS
Opus embraces dusky, deep tones influenced by modern maximalism, glam industrial, theater, and moody eclectic design. Combine these rich colors with unexpected accents to create dynamic transitions and passionate expressions reminiscent of the Dutch Golden Age. Showcase this maximalist point of view in home libraries, wine rooms, and other areas for a dramatic look.
DREAMLAND
Dreamland blends effervescence and tranquility to create an energetic and ethereal palette. Influenced by nature’s complexity, renewal, eco-style, and wellness, these hues highlight opalescent pastel tones and earthy greens. Combine these shimmering tones with upcycled materials to uplift any room and add a bit of reverie.
EPHEMERA
Indulging in the comfort and charm of bygone days, Ephemera pulls inspiration from nostalgia, retro depictions of the future, meaning and memory, and optimism. Featuring primary hues, this palette offers a sense of belonging and familiarity. Used alongside midcentury modern design pieces and retro accents, these shades create timeless spaces.
